Monthly Archive for February, 2012

As we enter the spring semester of the senior year we are reminded of how swiftly our Wesleyan careers are coming to an end. Without a doubt, the last four years have been remarkable.

If you would you like to share your Wesleyan experience at graduation as Commencement Speaker, simply submit a 200-250 word essay answering the following question:

What has your Wesleyan experience meant to you?

The essay should be roughly equivalent of the speech you wish to deliver at graduation. Completed essays should be emailed to Dean Phillips (dphillips@wesleyan.edu) by 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, February 14.

All essays will be reviewed anonymously by the Senior Commencement Speaker Committee.  The committee will select several applicants from the essay submission pool for interviews to determine the finalist.  Interviews will be conducted from February 27 – March 2.  The finalist will be announced before spring break.

Speaking at Commencement is a unique responsibility which should be taken seriously.  If you are interested in becoming the senior speaker for Commencement, please don’t hesitate to submit an essay!

Good luck and all the best!
